Phenomenon Summary

The day dawns frozen and icy, something unfamiliar to Bella, who is used to Phoenix. Bella alludes to her inherent clumsiness, which will be challenged by walking on icy surfaces. She does have trouble walking to the truck but not driving it on the icy roads. She gets out of the truck and hears an odd screech. She notices Edward watching her in horror. A dark blue van is skidding on the ice, heading straight for Bella. Something hits her, but from the wrong direction. She lands hard on the parking lot. The van keeps coming, and somehow stops short of hitting her, while a pair of white hands have reached out and stopped the van.
