Summary

In Chapter 6, “And twenty-four weeks before that…,” 24 weeks before his night with Aria, Neon was working a shift at the bingo hall on Halloween weekend. While Neon and his dad Deon were preparing to open, they discussed the newest addition to their family, Denzel Jeremy Washington. Deon wanted Neon to take more responsibility with the dog since adopting him from Aria because the dog was messy and his barking often disrupted Deon’s sleep.

Recently, Aria asked if her dog Jeremy could stay with Neon’s family because her mom hated him. His barking interrupted her trumpet practice. Neon knew his parents would say no.
