Chapter 16 Summary

Grandma is at the funeral parlor when Stephanie arrives, eager to see the body, but there are so many people there it is difficult to even see where the coffin is. Grandma makes her way to the coffin finally and a moment later there is a commotion. Stephanie knows right away that Grandma Mazur must have tried to open the casket. Stephanie makes her way to the casket where a near riot has broken out. Everyone wants to see the body. To distract them, Stephanie announces that Sally and Lula are going to sing. Sally and Lula put on an impromptu concert after some persuasion, distracting the crowd and causing some of them to leave. Grandma Mazur likes the music, however, and Lula suggests she join the band since most of their gigs have been at old folks homes lately.
