Chapter 14-15 Summary

Later that night Ranger and Stephanie get word that one of Ranger's men was shot checking out a possible break in at the bonds office. Ranger takes Stephanie to the hospital and sends her in to find out how his man is doing. Stephanie learns the man had a bullet proof vest on and has only suffered a wound in his arm. Stephanie asks if he saw the man who shot him and he says he thought it was Ranger on first sight, but realized too late that it was not. Stephanie stays with Ranger's man until he is out of surgery, then returns to her apartment. When Stephanie gets ready for bed she finds Ranger already there. Stephanie refuses to get into bed with him and instead goes out to sleep on the couch, but finds it too uncomfortable. Resigned...
