Chapters 11-12 Summary

In his background search of Scrog, Ranger finds a point at which their paths crossed. Scrog worked in a record store where Ranger once made an arrest. They never spoke, but Scrog was clearly impressed with what he saw. Ranger also warns Stephanie that his men will be following her, watching for Scrog to make a move against her. Stephanie agrees, since she knows she has little choice, and returns to the office. There a sane applicant comes in about the bounty hunter's job. Connie hires the woman on the spot. Lula and Stephanie return to the Pleasure Treasures to attempt to arrest Caroline Scarzolli again. However, the moment they walk through the door Scarzolli pulls a gun on them, forcing Stephanie to buy a toy she does not need and leave.
