Chapter 2 Summary

Stephanie and Lula take Melvin to jail and then focus on another skip. This skip, Mary Lee Truk, lives out in the Burg. Since Stephanie's family lives there as well, she calls her grandmother to see if she knows anything about her. Grandma Mazur tells Stephanie that Mrs. Truk is going through menopause and made the mistake of asking her husband if she was gaining weight. When he hesitated, Mrs. Truk stabbed him in the butt. Upon hearing this, Lula has second thoughts about apprehending Mrs. Truk, but Stephanie is confident. Stephanie manages to convince the woman to go with them and then takes her to the bakery for some donut therapy.

At the bonds office, Stephanie learns that a woman dressed in black has been there looking for her. Since Grandma mentioned the same woman looking for her at her parents' house...
