Knight’s Sword

Vi’s favorite weapon in gaming is a sword, and this symbolizes her fighting nature. Vi does not easily give in when she believes she is right, and she refuses to shut down her own opinions, feelings, and desires just because they offend people. She uses a sword in the game to demonstrate this fighting nature that she exhibits both in the game and in real life.

Illyria

In the novel, the school that has promised Jack a position on their football team is named Illyria, and the setting of Shakespeare’s play is Illyria. The setting of Illyria in the play is meant to be exotic. Illyria in the book is Jack’s dream. While the school is not exotic, both Illyrias are relatively ideal places different to the world the other characters live in and are symbolic of something new.
