Summary
Mr. Kingsley then chooses David and Sarah to do a theater exercise in front of the class. He tells them to face each other and to communicate only through touch. The exercise soon takes on an aggressive energy. During a break from class, David angrily confronts Sarah about the fact that she spoke to Kingsley about their relationship. Over the next few weeks, Kingsley consistently pairs Sarah and David together for theater exercises, but Sarah and David quickly resolve to not show emotion during these exercises, making them moot and uncomfortable for the class. Meanwhile, the other students participate in the exercises with gusto, as they are always eager to please Kingsley.
