Summary
In “Chapter 19”, Whit and Suzanne went to dinner with Mia and Malcolm and another couple. Mia talked to Whit, telling him Suzanne was exhausted and that looking after Iris was something she felt she had to do, but she was not sure why. Whit was impressed at how well his wife hid her fatigue and how good she was at keeping their family together. Whit worried that there was something Suzanne needed that he was not able to give her.
In “Chapter 20”, Reid heard Iris talking to herself in her room. He entered and saw a mouse in there. Iris showed him that she had stored food under her bed and he asked her if she had planned to run away. She shrugged and he dropped the subject. He told her the mouse was a problem and she caught it with her bare...
