Chapters 13 - 16 Summary

In Chapter 13, the next morning, Sarai, Dove, their body guards, Aly, and Navat go riding. Aly learns from Dove that Sarai loves riding, and the Duchess doesn't trust Bronau. Back at the castle, Aly goes to see how Ochobu is settling in. Ochobu says she has come to help protect Sarai, and help Aly win her bet. Aly confronts Ochobu, telling her that to kill the luarin on the Isles would be to kill countless people, including half-bloods. Later, below the walls, Aly watches the soldiers and Dove practicing archery and javelin throwing. The next morning, Nawat happily greets Aly, who feels emotions tugging at her heart. Nawat reveals that obsidian can cut the feathers of Stormwings. A few days later, some of Bronau's men arrive with thank-you gifts.
