Eden Streit
Eden Streit is one of the five protagonists of Ellen Hopkin's novel Tricks. From Idaho, Eden is the sixteen year-old daughter of a fundamentalist Assembly of God pastor, and a very fundamentalist mother. They are strict and devoutly religious. Eden is in love with a Roman Catholic college student named Andrew. Andrew and his sister attend revival meetings, where Andrew and Eden first meet.
They begin a secret relationship because Andrew is nineteen and Eden is sixteen, and the age of consent in Idaho is eighteen. They begin having sex, and eventually, Eden's mother finds out about the relationship. Eden's mother demands she stop seeing Andrew, but Eden refuses to listen. This leads her mother to believe Eden is possessed by demons, and sends her to a youth rehabilitation camp called Tears of Zion.
Eden is determined to get back to Andrew at any cost, and seduces...
