Cody Summary
Cody's relationship with Ronnie quickly becomes sexual. Her brother, Vince, is a star athlete at college who encourages the relationship between his sister and Cody. Vince is heavy into drinking and drugs. Cody also reveals his stepfather Jack uses crack. Ronnie also uses drugs.
Cody's thirteen year-old brother, Cory, comes home drunk. Cory is so drunk he falls onto the living room floor, and Cody puts him to bed. He then goes to Vince's to play poker, and then goes to see Ronnie for the night.
Cody Analysis
Cody and Cory both drink, and Cody begins using harder drugs. He also begins a very sexual relationship with Ronnie. Between his stepfather, girlfriend, brother, and girlfriend's brother, Cody is surrounded by negative examples. The one possible positive example he might have -his mother- is conspicuously absent from the house.
