Importance: Tolentino’s feelings of helplessness following Trump’s election is clearly demonstrated in Chapter six. She addresses her understanding on the overwhelming injustices that are plaguing society, yet feels hopeless in truly making a difference regardless. Consequently, Tolentino suggests that all of us are faced with two undesirable options: we can either accept and further contribute to a society that is fundamentally flawed, or be crushed by the weight of something that is larger than all of us.
