Summary
Tolentino and her boyfriend, Andrew, attend numerous weddings together. While it is easy for her to understand why a person would want to get married, the understanding is rarely reciprocated. Tolentino is not excited by the prospect of marriage and people often approach her with a desire to “correct” her mindset and encourage her to explore the possibility of marriage. Tolentino claims that her boyfriend gets asked this question much less than herself, presumably because people generally assume that women are more excited for their wedding day. Tolentino and Andrew have had the marriage conversation so many times that Andrew has stopped asking for her opinion on marriage.
