Rapture
The Rapture is one of the main themes in the story. The Rapture, considered to be a futuristic event in Christianity, has a profound affect on the characters in the story. As predicted in Revelation, the Rapture is said to be when Jesus Christ will return to the earth amid great fanfare and triumph to "call home" his people—Christians who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. According to Revelation 1:7 in the New Testament, "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen." (King James Version)
