Summary
Cushla finds herself incapable of living with Gina in the wake of Michael’s death and asks Gerry if she might stay with him for a while. He invites her over, and she is so moved by his kindness that she tries to kiss him. He pulls away and reminds her that he is not interested in her romantically. The next day, Cushla drives to the McGeown house to see Davy. Cushla bursts out crying when she says goodbye to Davy. Tommy comes downstairs and asks Cushla out on what she suspects is a date.
The Laverys attend Michael’s funeral, and Eamonn angrily warns Cushla not to cry too heavily. When they are leaving, Cushla makes eye contact with Victor, who gives her a look of scorn; she makes something of a scene insisting on talking to him...
