Summary
Cushla attends a wedding with Gerry, and while they are there, it is raided by members of the RUC. They harass Gerry and his friends but ultimately leave without making any arrests. Later in the night, a man Cushla meets at the bar approaches Gerry and asks if Gerry would be willing to house weapons for the IRA. Cushla has Gerry drop her off at Michael’s house, where they briefly argue about politics before sleeping together.
Cushla and Michael attend another party at Jim and Penny’s at which Michael introduces Cushla to a cleaning lady there named Mrs. Coyle. Mrs. Coyle is also Irish, and Michael pulls her aside to discuss something with her.
