Green Meadow, New Jersey
Green Meadow is the small New Jersey town in which the entirety of Tracy Flick Can't Win is set. The history and culture of the town dictates the narrative's mood and atmosphere throughout.
Although Tracy Flick did not grow up in Green Meadow, her relationship with the town is not dissimilar from those of Jack Weede, Kyle Dorfman, Vito Falcone, Glenn Keeler, and others. Like her narrative counterparts, Tracy often feels trapped and limited by life in Green Meadow. Like the others, she feels as if she was meant for a life greater than Green Meadow allows. Over the course of the novel, each of the characters struggles to reconcile herself with life in Green Meadow, its difficulties and its opportunities.
