Chapter 14 Summary

On December 13, Dr. Redmond Courtney is ready to tee off at the Palmetto Country Club golf course. He has few friends, so he is playing with a patient, a schizophrenic named Mario Groppo, and two engineers from the Boeing Company in Seattle. During one unusually good shot with a wedge, Groppo sends the ball deftly into the cup, and immediately the twelfth green blows up in the air with a brilliant orange plume, launching the flagstick like a flaming javelin along with Dr. Courtney who was holding the flag at the time. From some distance off comes a loud voice proclaiming, "Bon Voyage, Dr. Goosefucker!"

Keyes goes to Jenna's house to enlist her help in finding Wiley who has just killed three people at the golf course. She refuses, and tells him to leave because she has to catch a plane to see...
