Chapter 23 through Chapter 27 Summary

In Chapter 23, Dez is informed that Kale is to be terminated, and she is to be interviewed again. During the interview, however, Mercy tips Dez off that she is going to help her, as she is one of Ginger's people. She meets her in the parking lot, and informs her she is willing to allow Dez to mimic her in order to save Kale. Dez mimics painfully, and Mercy takes her place, looking like her, in that car sent to take her home while Dez, as Mercy, returns inside Denazen. She and a guard take Kale to Mercy's office, where Dez, still as Mercy, promises to take him outside, if he answers questions. She also promises not to hurt Dez.
