Chapter 9 and Chapter 10 Summary

In Chapter 9, Dez tells the story of she and Alex. Meeting him when she was only fifteen, the two began dating and Dez fell off the good girl wagon as a result. They broke up when she caught him cheating, and had avoided him since. She knew nothing of his being a six. Now, he agrees to help them, and will meet them after talking to other sixes. Left alone, Dez and Kale talk about Kale's life in Denazen, and Dez reminds him that what he did does not make him who he is. In turn, Dez tells him of her attempts to make her father angry, and of her life outside Denazen. She explains she had a normal relationship with her father, but he always kept her at a distance.
