Summary

In Chapter 21, the night of the talent show arrives. Tess puts all her lucky things into her pocket. Tess is stunned when Natalie shows up, having been invited by Mom to the show. Tess rushes to find Libby, telling Libby that Natalie is downstairs and must be distracted by Libby and Grace at the show in case Aaron’s mom shows up. Libby agrees to do so. Tess rubs her sea glass, hoping everything will work out.

In Chapter 22, as promised, Libby and Grace stick close to Natalie, constantly seeking her attention. Tess keeps watching the door at the hall for Aaron’s mom, but sees Eben arrive instead. The show begins. Libby and Grace dress up like bees and sing a song. Tess and Jenna perform a little while later. During the performance, Tess sees Aaron’s mom show up.
