Summary
At the outset of “Pivots”, Unfair Games is working on a new video game called Love Doppelgangers, conceptualized by Simon and Ant. Unfair Games released the game under the title Counterpart High, and within months it was the company’s biggest success. Sadie often felt jealous of Simon and Ant’s relationship because they were both creative partners and life partners. Later, Sadie met up with Dov, who was visiting Los Angeles and asked him how to get over a failure. Sadie was still having trouble reconciling with the fact that the few people who did play Both Sides preferred Sam’s half of the game to her own.
Shortly before Marx was scheduled to travel to Tokyo, Zoe broke up with him. After Sam declined Marx’s invitation to accompany him, Sadie agreed to go. In Japan, she and Marx brainstormed...
