Summary
On July 8th, Sophie writes that the second hummingbird has hatched. She knows she only has three weeks before the mother bird will no longer return. On July 12th, Sophie writes that Evelyn is angry that Sophie did not go to the 4th of July festival in Portland. On the 18th, Sophie tries to take a picture, but startles the mother bird. On July 20th, Charlotte and Sophie moved the tent for a better angle of light. Sophie gives Charlot6te a business card declaring that the latter is now her assistant. Charlotte is delighted. On July 23rd, Sophie gives Evelyn a picture of the Hummingbird that Sophie believes is her best picture. Evelyn loves it and leaves for San Francisco. On July 27th, Sophie waits impatiently for a plate to develop that she believes is worthy of praise.
