Summary
In Chapter 7, Jenkins and Weston continued to bicycle south through deserts in Mexico. They eventually arrived in the city of Nexpa and talked with some of the locals. The locals told them that much of the commerce in the area was controlled by a drug cartel known as the Knights Templar. Jenkins and Weston spent the next few days speaking to locals, learning about the cartel’s activities. Jenkins noted that. Although the cartel was sometimes violent, life in Nexpa was mostly peaceful, and that media often exaggerates levels of violence in all parts of the world. However, Jenkins and Weston’s trip was halted for the time being, as there was some violent, cartel-related conflict to the south.
