Summary
In Chapter 4, Jenkins and Weston continued to ride south through California. They arrive in the town of Pismo, where Weston’s mother (Linda) lives, so they go to visit her. Linda is friendly, and she speaks about the ways in which Weston often alternates between new ideas and worldviews. Weston was devoutly Christian for a time when he was younger. In Los Angeles, Jenkins and Weston stayed there for a week, spending time with their friends who lived there. Jenkins attended the University of Southern California (USC) for college. He had wanted to be a movie director, but he soon discovered that it was not his true passion. Jenkins and Weston enjoyed the comfort of their week in Los Angeles, but they knew that they had to continue their journey.
