Chapter 14 Summary
Bill Roach is happy because today Jim Prideaux's car-club rally opened. They had refurbished Jim's Alvis. There were fourteen students in the race. Jim sees an approaching figure and asks Bill, who he calls Jumbo, if he knows the man. One student thinks the stranger has something to do with the church because he was talking with the vicar after chapel. Jim tells the students to let him know if they see the stranger again. The next day Jim sees the stranger talking to the vicar. Bill notices that Jim's face darkens during the conversation.
Chapter 14 Analysis
