Summary

Chapter 21

Kate and Katherine try to escape, but run right into Holmes. Holmes has captured Kiernan, who tried to sneak in to rescue them. They’re returned to their cell, but Kate is able to use her medallion to jump up to the third floor. She returns to the cell, but this time from the outside so she can unbolt it. Kate gives Kiernan instructions to take Katherine to the stable point where she can return to the headquarters. She also warns him in the future not to trust Prudence. The hotel is a maze and they struggle to escape. They hear gunshots coming from another part of the hotel. As they try to escape they start to smell smoke and it becomes clear the building is on fire.
