Chapter 39 Summary
Walter take Davey's family to pick out a car and she likes a Subaru that looks like the car Jane threw up in the first night she got drunk. Walter pulls Davey's mother to the side to talk to her about her choice to go back to Atlantic City. He wanted make sure they weren't leaving because of him and Bitsy. He admits that he can have a strong personality at times. Davey's mother assures him that he needed to be strong enough for her at times, and he wasn't the reason for her decision. Jane comes over while Davey is packing and cries the whole time. Jane has become very dependent on Davey's friendship and isn't sure how she will make out with Davey gone.
