In Chapter 28, Thursday and Spike attempt to rescue President Formby from an early death. He is due to die from natural causes in six days, but due to a shady scheme of the undead to sell souls that still have life in them, he is in danger. This part of the undead world is a portal from which people who have died in car accidents are staged before they are sent across a bridge into an absolute death state.
