Chapters 29-30 Summary
Thursday is rescued by Miss Havisham. While locked in the vault, Thursday thinks of Landen, Miss Havisham, the baby, and her situation. There were no books that would help her escape. Miss Havisham arrives and they escape by reading the washing instruction in Thursday's trousers.
Miss Havisham tells Thursday that Volescamper's copy of Cardinio is a Great Library copy. From the washing label, they went to the instructions on Thursday's washing machine, and from there to the Great Library. Back at Great Expectations, Thursday tells Miss Havisham the whole story.
In Chapter Thirty, Thursday tells Harris Tweed the story of her rescue. He says that Miss Havisham took a big risk in jumping into something of less than one hundred words.
