Chapters 23-24 Summary

Thursday patrols with Spike to earn some extra money. A supreme evil being or SEB was let loose from his jar. Spike is trying to catch him. The chill on their necks means that the SEB is in the area. Spike decides the SEB spirit in in his temple and has to be expelled. He tells Thursday to kill him and then vacuum the spirit with the special vacuum cleaner he has. She refuses. They hear noises outside the church. He had placed a dud-bullet in her gun and told her he was trying to get the SEB to appear. Thursday shoots Spike. The bullet grazes him but the SEB exits Spike's head. Spike uses the vacuum and traps the spirit in a jar. Thursday earned enough to pay her landlord.
