Chapters 5 and 4a Summary

Thursday awakens on the Marlborough Downs. She sees her father standing by a Goliath Corporation billboard and tells him that she thinks she has been shot by a Special Ops marksman. They talk about the number of Shakespearean plays since her father had been in the same profession as she was. He tells her that on December 12th, all human life will turn to a pink slime such as that which he has in a specimen bag. A cyclist has been hit by a motorist near where they are standing. Her father feels the cyclist is the key to saving the human race.
