Chapter 38-39 Summary and Analysis

When Thursday arrives home, Landen is waiting for her. The reality book idea has been abandoned. People were so into the idea that suddenly "Pride and Prejudice" is selling out, and people are reading again. Thursday confesses that she has been working for Jurisfiction behind his back for fourteen years. Landen tells her that he already knew, but that he believes in her work and wants her to keep doing it. The future Friday is there to talk to her as well. He tells her that without the unscrambled egg recipe the ChronoGuard will not be able to time travel or control time anymore. They are turning off all their machines and he will no longer exist. The Friday of the present will be able to choose his own future.
