Chapter 18-21 Summary and Analysis

Aornis Hades is trapped in a loop of time, eight minutes long. It is a form of prison that is cost effective, as the prisoners don't need food or water, and don't take up space as they are trapped in ordinary places, like shops, bus stops, and dentist offices. Aornis Hades is trapped at the register at a TJ Maxx store. Aornis is a Mnemonomorph: she can manipulate memory. Thursday is the one who put her in prison, so Thursday is not expecting Aornis to be very helpful in her search for Felix8. Friday offers to expand her loop of time by twenty minutes if she gives information. According to Aornis Felix8 was killed in 1986. Aornis also says that she plans to break out prison with someone's help, but she erased that from Thursday's memory.
