Chapters 58-62 Summary
In chapter 58, Sloane is in ecstasy as she stares at the wealth of micaceous pottery around her. There have never been more than a broken piece of this pottery ever found and here she is standing among hundreds of complete samples. It is a find that will make Sloane the most well-known and envied archaeologist in modern history. Sloane focuses on Black after admiring her find and realizes he looks ill. Sloane leaves him in the kiva as she runs out to find him some medication to alleviate his discomfort. In chapter 59, Sloane is surprised to see Nora as she drops back into the camp. Nora realizes that Sloane must have seen the storm and sent Nora and her team through the slot canyon anyway. Nora accuses Sloane of murder. Determined not to have her success ruined, Sloane goes for her...
