Chapters 19-22 Summary
In chapter 19, the expedition cannot find water and the GPS continues to be useless as well. The members of the expedition are becoming concerned. Some of the people believe Nora is lost. Dr. Black is the most vocal, announcing his fear that they are all going to die in these canyons. Nora insists that they are close and should continue on. Later, Aragon tells Nora and Sloane that the black paint in Pete's Ruin was made of blood and that the skull showed evidence of having been scalped. In chapter 20, Skip Kelly begins his first day of work at the Santa Fe Archaeology Institute with a hangover.
