Summary

In the beginning of Part Six, the Thunderhead explained the geography of the island of Endura and the fact that it intentionally had no cameras there to separate itself from the scythedom. In Chapter 39, Citra and Scythe Curie arrived in luxurious Endura. Xenocrates spoke with the other Grandslayers. Scythe Goddard told Xenocrates that he had caught Scythe Lucifer and would present Rowan at the inquest, either painting Xenocrates in a good or bad light based on whether he would cooperate with Goddard’s wishes. Citra and Curie took a tour of the premises. Rowan remained captive in Scythe Brahms’ vacation home. At the end of the chapter, the Thunderhead had chosen not to eliminate former capital cities that were symbolic for government.
