Point of View
All three short stories are told in the first person point-of-view. "In Time" is told through the eyes of Gabe, an adult character who has never been a part of the camp system. "Sparks Rise" is split between Sam and Lucas who have both been trapped in their respective camps for over seven years. Lastly, "Beyond the Night" is told by both Sam and Mia as they try to navigate their newfound freedom in a dying world. These point-of-views allow the reader to fully immerse themselves in the story as they understand the emotional states of all of the characters. Furthermore, this limited point-of-view allows the reader to slowly discover the world along with the characters.
