chapters 51-55 Summary
In chapter fifty-one, Dorian defends Chaol to the king the next morning. The king agrees that Chaol should not be punished. They argue about Celaena, and then Dorian tries to convince his father not to use Nehemia as a hostage, as Perrington suggested. Again, the king agrees. Celaena is recovering, but is still in great pain from the injuries Cain gave to her. Nehemia comes to her and tells Celaena than she did not hallucinate during the duel with him. The demons and ghosts she saw were real, and Celaena was able to see them because she was close to death. Nehemia has been fluent in the language Adarlan since she arrived, but pretended to need lessons in order to spend more time with Celaena.
