chapters 31-40 Summary

In chapter thirty-one, Elena's spirit again visits Celaena in her chambers. Elena reminds Celaena that she must win the competition and directs her back inside the tunnels. The next test for the Champions involves identifying seven poisons and arranging them from least to most dangerous. They must then drink the deadliest poison with the antidote nearby. She sees the poison specialist, Pelor, arrange his poisons and mimics his. They wind up getting the order right.

In chapter thirty-two Celaena is with Nehemia, teaching her the language of Adarlan. The princess asks her why she is so carefully guarded, as Celaena is still pretending to be Lady Lillian to keep her identity a secret. They visit the prince's kennels, and find Dorian there.
