Chapter 23: Consequences

Kiera lies in bed with Kellan, finally having made her choice. She gets up quietly and slips her clothes back on, going back to her room. Denny doesn’t move. Eventually, she dozes off. When she wakes up, all she wants to do is see Kellan. She goes downstairs and walks straight into his arms, telling him she missed him. Kellan separates from her and tells her they should talk about Denny, just as he is coming into the room, having heard his name mentioned. Kellan quickly covers by inviting them to a gig, but Denny insists that they will both be staying home. Kellan breaks the silence and leaves the two of them alone. Kiera naps off and on, knowing Denny is watching her, his eyes dark and introspective.
