Summary
Chapter 17: Like It Should Be
The next morning Kellan comes into the kitchen. He and Kiera declare a mutual truce. He pulls her into an embrace after they apologize to each other. He tells her that they have to stop, and she agrees, tears spilling down her face. He kisses her softly, telling her he still wants her but acknowledging that she’s made her choice. He promises not to touch her again.
Kiera tries to focus her attention on Denny and on friends like Jenny and Kate. She calls her family more often, but none of that distracts her and neither do her classes. After some time has passed, Kiera wants to at least try being alone in the same room together, but Kellan insists they are too volatile. Fesides, he already can’t forgive himself for the way...
