Summary

In Chapter 19, Bri is in pain when she wakes. There is a man nearby who is vomiting. The woman who said the word “Sleep” is named Vivian. The man with her is named Dre. The man vomiting is Calvin. They are Karter's relatives, and they blame Bri for Mrs. Redmond's death. Bri realizes these are the people who tried to buy the pottery from Phillip. Viv knocked him out, which is why he remembers only the first few minutes of that encounter. Bri learns that Calvin came into contact with poisonous plants. Viv seems indifferent to his suffering.
