Chapter 5 and 6 Summary and Analysis

Chapter Five Dylan Goes Electric

Bob Dylan calls Levon and asks him if he wants to play the Hollywood Bowl with him, and when Levon finds out it will just be them and Dylan he agrees. They have to call the Colonel to find out if Dylan can sell out the Hollywood Bowl; they have heard him on the radio but have no idea how big Bob Dylan is. In the beginning the band is not too happy about the whole idea because Dylan only needs a drummer and a guitar player, so that means only Levon and Robbie will be going with Bob. Bob is moving from the Folk music he has been playing to more of an electric guitar sound. The first show they play is Forrest Hills Tennis Stadium in August of 1965. The fans hate it...
