Summary
In Chapter 25, Alessa is hungover and slightly annoyed that Dante is not. As the Fontes meet their families, Alessa meets Mastro Pasquale for her portrait. As the session ends and Dante escorts Alessa to her room, they find poisoned cookies that Dante quickly throws out. Alessa convinces him to take her to the city while he runs an errand, so she can ask her parents about them.
Alessa goes into her family's bakery, and her father is emotional to see her. He says Adrick was the last to man the kitchen, but their conversation is cut short by her mother who coldly tells Alessa to leave. Devastated, Alessa leaves to find Adrick, who promises to visit the Cittadella before telling her to leave. Alessa sees Dante and follows him.
