Summary
In Chapter 14, Karter arrives the next morning. Mo burns the waffles she tries to cook for breakfast then goes into town to buy food. Bri and Karter talk about the move that brought Bri here. She talks in general terms about her lack of friends. Bri says she is curious to learn more about the house she inherited. Karter says he has heard “the women who lived here were into witchcraft.” Karter becomes alarmed when the grass begins to reach toward Bri. Bri considers rushing away with him but decides to tell the truth. She asks him to follow her into the forest. He hesitates, then takes her hand.
