Summary

As Chapter 1 opens, Bri Green is a teenager working alongside her mom Thandie in their flower shop in Brooklyn. A man wants his weekly order of white roses for his wife's grave, but the shipment has been delayed. Bri is working on a flower arrangement that uses roses. Bri goes outside and uses her power to grow one rose bloom into an entire stem of roses with six blooms. The customer is pleased. Thandie is obviously worried about the effect this has on Bri. Bri has had problems using her power in the past, such as the time she'd brought the roots of a huge maple up through the ground.
