Summary
In Chapter 13, at 10:27 a.m. Tomas thinks through the timing, process of actually opening the doors. He cracks the door open and sees Sylvia. Crawling through the door he sees the bodies. Tyler’s attention is focused on his sister. He knows while Tyler is focused on Autumn, they can get the other students out. Tomas puts his hand on Sylv’s shoulder and she hugs him in surprise and relief. He motions to the door. She helps spread the word that the doors are open. Tomas is glad that as the word spreads there is no rush for the doors. Students move slowly and quietly.
Because she is facing the audience, Autumn can see the students beginning to move toward the doors. She tries to ignore what is happening so she does not alert Tyler to what is happening. Hoping to keep...
