Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo is where Yunior grew up before his father took the family to America. He returns there a few times in some of the other stories, namely when he goes on vacation with Magda and the trip he takes with Elvis. He occasionally makes reference to his original home in the other stories.

Brooklyn

The majority of stories centered on Yunior’s youth take place in Brooklyn. The primary location is their apartment, but Yunior occasionally goes out into unspecified parts of the city. Yasmin’s story also takes place in the city where she lives and works.

Paterson

Yunior mentions in Flaca that the story takes place in Paterson, New Jersey. This is primarily where their relationship begins.
